Wall Pass Rebound
Build passing accuracy and reaction catching completely alone, off any flat wall.
- Time
- 15 minutes
- Players
- 1 to 2 players
- Intensity
- Low
- Equipment
- Ball
- Space
- 3-8m from a wall
- Positions
- All positions
Setup
A flat brick wall, garage door or ball court, and one ball. Stand 3m out to begin, extending to 6-8m as you get accurate.
How to run it
- Stand side-on to the wall and pass the ball into it at an angle so it rebounds back towards you, then catch it with your hands up and fingers spread.
- The whole skill is finding the angle that brings the ball back to you rather than past you, so start close where it is easy and move back only once you are consistent.
- Do 4 sets of 20 passes, alternating which side you pass from each set, resting 45 seconds between.
- Follow through with your fingers pointing at the spot you are aiming for, every single rep.
Coaching cues
- Fingers point at the target on the follow-through
- Hands up, fingers spread, thumbs close together
- Watch it all the way into your hands
Common mistakes
- Drifting square-on to the wall so the rebound flies past you
- Catching the ball against your chest instead of with your arms extended
